October 30th MOPS Preview
Jody and I have been involved in voluntary financial counseling for over 25 years. I am a retired airline pilot with 39 years in that profession. I have a BS in mathematics, and I have always had an interest in numbers, especially the positive ones. We have a desire to see people freed from the bondage of debt. We want people to live their lives with as much freedom as possible from the monumental financial pressures facing our world today. I am a member of Gideon’s International (Place Bibles in Hotels, etc.), Sunday school teacher for many years, and we love to travel.

Hi Ladies!
I am sure many of you have heard the weather reports being predicted for this weekend, and now are even getting a little taste of the cold temperatures that have fallen on the valley. It’s definitely unfortunate when an outdoor event is supposed to take place, and may not be able to move forward as planned due to inclement weather. We considered different ideas on how to move it indoors, but accommodations were very limited based on space, numbers attending and time-allowance. At this point, we are still intending for the celebration to occur same time, same place. Some of us plan on being there despite rain and cold temperatures (a somewhat-sheltered pavilion has been rented), however, we are very understanding of those who want to play it safe at home if conditions become extreme. Please check email early or mid-afternoon tomorrow before the 4:00 scheduled event to see if any updates come up!
Thank you for wanting to be a part of this celebration! Please keep in mind that we would love to have another similar family activity in the future where all can come together!

Welcome!!
This year’s MOPS theme is “Adventures in Mothering”. Each of our meetings will be based on a ride or event at an amusement park. We will share our daily adventures as mothers and learn how to hold on for the ride of mothering. You should be recieving your welcome letter as well as DGL and table assignments by the first week of September.
Your children will be well cared for in our MOPPETS program. Assignments for MOPPETS rooms will be given at check in on the first day.
Parking is always a challenge! In the front of the building, you may only park in SMCC designated spots or blank parking spots. DO NOT park in ACS parking. All other parking is behind the building to the north or in the dirt lot across the street. Please use caution when crossing the street because there are many large trucks that travel that road. Carpool if you have the opportunity to do so.
Please plan to bring a check or cash for the $48 semester fee at the first meeting, (sorry we are unable to process debit or credit cards). If you registered over the phone, you will need to pay the $24 registration fee as well. Scholarship or payment plans are available, just ask Amber Sletten when you check in on the first day.
I am excited about all that this MOPS year has in store for us! Please call if you have any questions!

What is MOPS?
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers and is an international organization that exists to encourage, equip, and help women become the best moms that they can be! Women who are pregnant or have young children (newborn through Kindergarten) are all invited to join MOPS!
MOPS is caring through:
- A program designed for all mothers of preschoolers (conception through Kindergarten) and is coordinated by the mothers themselves.
- An open, caring atmosphere where specific needs of today's preschool mothers are met.
- Small discussion groups where women interact, encourage and learn from one another.
- A comfortable setting for social and spiritual enrichment for mother and child(ren).
- The enjoyment of completing a craft with the opportunity for creative expression, a sense of accomplishment and deepening friendships.
MOPS is preparing through:
- Building a sense of identity and personal worth.
- Instruction relating to womanhood, childrearing, marriage and building a home based on biblical principles.
- Social and creative opportunities for the preschool child
What Happens at MOPS?
At our MOPS group, you will the chance to enjoy breakfast and socialize with other moms, hear from some great speakers, discuss important topics in mothering, participate in creative activities...and even enjoy a cup of coffee while it’s still hot! Your children are cared for throughout our meetings by loving caregivers in our MOPPETS program.
When and where is MOPS?
MOPS meets twice a month on Thursdays mornings from 9:00am-11:30am. Our Fall Session runs from September until December, and our Spring Session runs from January until May. We meet at South Mountain Community Church, which is located in Draper.
How do I sign up?
